Maui writer to autograph new book.

Maui author Jill Engledow will sign copies of her new book, Island Life 101: A Newcomer’s Guide to Hawai‘i, Saturday, May 10, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Borders Books and Music at Maui Marketplace in Kahului.

Island Life 101 expands on Engledow’s earlier book, Maui 101, to help newcomers in Hawai‘i understand the history, culture and community life of their new home. Island Life 101 includes a lively and readable synopsis of Hawai‘i history; stories that capture the spirit of the Islands and suggestions on how newcomers can fit in. Nuts-and-bolts survival tips range from how to pronounce Hawaiian words to where to find resources for starting a business.
