Maui Calls 2008

Celebrate a love of the arts, food, wine and music.

Imua! Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s (The MACC) annual “Maui Calls” gala fundraiser will be held on Friday, Aug. 15, starting at 6 p.m., and promises to be another grand island adventure with a canoes theme!

This year, the most fabulous silent auction items include one-of-a-kind canoe paddles hand-painted by leading Maui artists, such as George Allan, Betty Hay Freeland, Kirk Kurokawa, Darrell Orwig and many others! Live auction items will include a new Toyota truck!

Maui Calls is primarily known as a “tasting” event. This year, the stellar lineup of restaurants and chefs includes more than 20 of the island’s best: Grand Wailea Resort & Spa, Hali‘imaile General Store, Hula Grill, I’O/Pacific’O, Main Street Bistro, Mala Ocean Tavern, Makena Resort/Maui Prince Hotel, Pineapple Grill, Plantation House Restaurant, Ritz Carlton Kapalua, Roy’s Restaurants, Sansei Seafood & Sushi Bar, Seawatch, Spago, Tommy Bahama’s Tropical Café, with desserts by the Four Seasons Resort Maui, Pan Restaurant, Longhi’s, Capische and Il Teatro, with coffee drinks by Maui Oma.

Maui Calls is generously sponsored by Fine Wine Imports (as it has been since the event’s inception in 1996!), so a score of the country’s best vineyards will be pouring.

Tickets are still available, so don’t miss out on one of Maui’s most entertaining fundraisers! Enjoy a taste of 20 of Maui’s finest restaurants and sample interesting wines of the world. See some of the island’s best values and finest treasures at the live and silent auctions and kick up your heels with live music and dancing, as you help support The MACC’s arts education programs… all for the incredible price of $195 per person!

Download the order form at www.mauiarts.org/specialevents.html, or call 243-4225, email kathy@mauiarts.org for tickets today.

Proceeds from Maui Calls will support the arts, education and community programs at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. The MACC has enriched the life of Maui residents for over a decade now, providing a venue for a wide variety of arts events and performances, from hula to popular entertainers, modern dance to salsa, symphonies to student performances, art exhibits to rock and roll. The MACC is also host to films, community and business meetings, classes, education programs and cultural workshops—over 1,700 events annually, attended by 265,000 people each year.
