Benoit Jazz Works to perform at Maui Mall Summer Concert Series.

Benoit Jazz Works will relieve Maui’s ongoing “jazz drought” with a special performance at Maui Mall’s Center Stage on Sunday, Aug. 24, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The group is well known for incorporating the Hawaiian lifestyle into their sophisticated style of jazz with tight rhythms and the cool vocal style of Angela Benoit. This combination makes for one hot show! The concert will also include drawings for free gas and giveaways.

Phil and Angela Benoit have been married 21 years and have been playing jazz professionally and making records since 1997. Born and raised on Maui, Angela is known for her irresistibly smooth and sultry voice and captivating live performances. Phil, who is the younger brother of world-renowned jazz pianist David Benoit, has been studying and playing jazz guitar for the last decade after playing mostly blues and rock. Phil also performs as rhythm guitarist for the popular gypsy-jazz group Gypsy Pacific. Critics from around the state have celebrated Benoit Jazz Works’ latest CD, About A Man and A Woman.
