Forget about the title—the winner of three Tony Awards, Urinetown: The Musical is one of the most uproariously funny musicals in recent years.

Professional Artists of the Pacific LLC, in association with Maui Academy of the Performing Arts (MAPA), present the musical beginning Friday, Oct. 24, at the Steppingstone Playhouse at the Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center in Kahului. (See sidebar for complete schedule.)

Urinetown: The Musical is a hilarious tale of greed, corruption, revolution and love in a time when water is worth its weight in gold and not all the leaders are completely forthright. Urinetown catapults the audience into an unknown future with its outrageous perspective, wickedly modern wit, and sustained ability to produce gales of unbridled laughter.
