Kaua‘i-born Filipina singer-songwriter Faith Rivera, known for her uplifting and inspiring music, will be the featured guest Sunday, Nov. 23, at Unity of Maui’s 10 a.m. Sunday service, held at the Binhi At Ani Filipino Community Center, 780 Onehe‘e Ave. in Kahului. Rivera will also present a special evening concert on Monday, Nov. 24, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at Unity’s 483 S. High Street location in Wailuku.

At 1 p.m. on Sunday, the Emmy Award-winning artist will present an interactive workshop, “Singing with Soul,” at the High Street location. There is no experience required, just the love of singing. Get tips on maintaining a healthy voice, improving pitch and ear for harmony, and finding more freedom and soul in singing aloud and performing in front of others. Participants will have the opportunity to learn songs with Rivera and perform onstage the following evening at her performance. (A $20 donation is suggested.)

Faith will perform songs at her Monday concert from her “upbeat posi-pop” album, Raise Me Up. This newest eclectic pop release includes Ave Maria, Amazing Grace, Wind Beneath My Wings, All You Need is Love, This Little Light of Mine and Don’t Stop Me Now. Donations are appreciated.
