Cecilio & Kapono

One of Hawai‘i’s favorite music duos, the legendary Cecilio & Kapono, will return to the Castle Theater on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 7:30 p.m. to celebrate the epic milestone of their 35th anniversary in a special “Back In The Day” concert for the Maui audience.

This popular pair has been performing together for 35 years! “C&K,” as they are fondly known, have won lasting stature on the contemporary Hawaiian music scene as well as in the hearts of their audiences. Between the two, Cecilio Rodriguez and Henry Kapono have released more than 20 albums and received multiple Na Hoku Hanohano Awards as a duo and as solo artists. Their unique blend of Hawaiian and folk/rock harmonies make this show an enduring favorite, evoking memories of good times together.

Captivating the audience every time they take the stage with memorable favorites such as Friends, Lifetime Party, About You, Sailin’ and Highway in the Sun, C&K draw capacity crowds whenever they re-team. Their new song, Back in the Day, celebrates their “C&K 35 Back in the Day” tour, which kicked off at the Waikiki Shell in August. The Maui concert is one of their last three tour dates in Hawai‘i for 2008, so don’t miss out on this historic event!

This C&K concert is part of “The MACC Presents…” 2008–09 Rockin’ Poppin’ Series. Tickets for Cecilio & Kapono are $12, $28 and $37; with discount for annual donors to The MACC. Visit The MACC Box Office or call 242-SHOW (7469) to charge by phone Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For patron convenience 24 hours a day, purchase tickets online at www.mauiarts.org.
