The U.S. Department of Defense Commissary Agency has awarded a Director’s Coin to Maui’s Roselani Ice Cream. Pat Nixon, chief executive of the agency, presented the award to Kathy Nobriga Kim and Diane Lee of Roselani Ice Cream. The product has been in commissary freezers for three years with sales growing substantially in the past 12 to 18 months. Roselani Ice Cream is a division of Maui Soda & Ice Works where Nobriga Kim’s grandfather started making ice cream from scratch in 1932.
