Maui Toy Works, one of Lahaina Cannery Mall’s original tenants, made a major expansion in early May and moved into a unit with 30 percent more space than its old location. Owner Robert Loera, a former champion kite flyer, worked with local designers to renovate and customize the new store, adopting an ocean theme and utilizing a cool palate of seaside colors. The specialty toy shop, known for a variety of unique toys, gifts, puzzles, novelties and colorful kites, has been in business for more than 25 years.
