Community members are invited to attend a series of eight meetings hosted by Mayor Charmaine Tavares next month to discuss the 2009-10 budget. Concerned citizens and organizations are encouraged to attend a meeting held in their area and offer both written and verbal testimonies. Each session will begin with a presentation on the “Circuit Breaker” real property tax credit. In addition, the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program Office will precede each meeting in most locations with a presentation.

The CDBG will gather opinions regarding the county’s proposed Annual Action Plan for next year, which involves a grant application for nearly $2 million dollars from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
