Maui residents can rest easy as the new Zippy’s restaurant held its grand opening on Monday, Aug. 18. The Kahului location is the largest Zippy’s establishment in the state, seating 242, customers. It has a take-out counter and a retail section with the Napoleon Bakery. This local favorite is located on Ho‘okele Street off of Mokulele Highway and will stay open 24 hours to satisfy your chili cravings any time of the day. The Maui restaurant will be the 25th in the chain and the only one currently operating outside of O‘ahu. Even though the economy is struggling, Zippy’s officials believe that their future on Maui looks bright.
