The Hawai‘i Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs’ Business Registration Division is reducing expenses by limiting the amount of paper it uses to operate. The division revealed Friday, Sept. 26, that it would move towards “going green” by not mailing paper copies of annual report forms of partnerships, corporations and limited liability companies who have filed with them. As an alternative, notification cards will be mailed, showing how to file online at www.ehawaii.gov/annuals. Representatives said that removing the bulky mailings could save more than 560 pounds of paper, and nearly $24,000 in postage a year.
