The Hawai’i Jewelers Association recently honored Maui artist and part-owner of Topaz Goldsmith and Gallery, David Fairclough, for one of his unique creations on Oct. 27. Fairclough won the People’s Choice Award with his stunning gold serpent necklace called “Eve’s Temptation.” It is made up of supple gold links set over 1,800 stones, including black diamonds, yellow sapphires, white diamonds and chrysoberyl with a slithering diamond tongue. Only one piece was produced, but Fairclough has given customers the freedom to design their own custom reptile necklace. Fairclough has over 41 years of experience in the jewelry business. Topaz Goldsmith and Gallery has been making its mark in Kihei for nearly 20 years. The gallery is located within the Dolphin Plaza at 2395 S. Kihei Road, Unit 117 in Kihei.
