Representatives from Mokulele Airlines revealed last week that the airline will begin jet service between Honolulu and Kahului on March 1, 2009. Mokulele, based out of Hawai‘i Island, is now accepting reservations online for the new route. As of Wednesday, Nov. 19, the airline has used the 70-seat Embraer 170 jets provided by Republic Airways subsidiary Shuttle America between Honolulu, Kona and Lihue, Kaua‘i. Indianapolis-based Republic Airways Holdings Inc. entered into a partnership with Mokulele last month. Mokulele has also expanded its “fixed-wing interisland routes” by presenting Cessna Grand caravan service from Kapalua/West Maui to Ho‘olehua, Moloka‘i and Kahului.
