Nail salon provides a pristine, “polished” salon experience. The plumeria is no ordinary flower. It is believed that the five petals of the plumeria represent a spiritual journey towards sincerity. One can complete this journey by accepting the four petals of faith, devotion, aspiration and surrender. And as one wears the plumeria, the fifth petal, called sincerity, will point towards the sky. And just like the plumeria, the La Fleur (“the flower”) Plumeria Nail Salon in Kihei is no ordinary salon. With its soft, inviting ambience and clean, fresh décor, La Fleur Plumeria Nail Salon is the ideal place to rejuvenate and pamper your mind, body—and soles.
Owners Steve and Jacquiline Ababan opened the salon in December 2007. Working as a nail technician for more than three decades, Jacquiline shares her talent and expertise with a skilled, dedicated staff of nail professionals.
La Fleur Plumeria nail professionals are friendly and courteous, offering the proverbial “red carpet” treatment to their clientele. Extensively trained in standard procedures such as manicures and pedicures, these talented professionals are also skilled in a variety of nail enhancements, including acrylic sets, gel or fiberglass sets and intricate nail art designs. Services for men and women include Signature Manicures and Pedicures, waxing, eyelash tinting and children’s services. The popular Signature Manicure and Pedicure are ideal for both men and women, providing an opportunity to put the mind and body at ease. Seated in one of the salon’s unique Plumeria back massage chairs, feet are pampered with an exfoliating sea salt scrub, heated towel wrap and fruit lotion massage—often eliciting a response of “Ahh.”
And, according to Steve, a pedicure is much more than a beauty ritual—it involves reflexology, or zone therapy, which is the practice of massaging the feet to encourage circulation in other parts of the body.
“We give the highest level of service,” said Jacquiline. “We value our clients and want them to leave here feeling relaxed and satisfied.”
With a warm smile, Steve admitted, “I think we may have gone overboard in making sure that it is the absolute best experience for our clients.”
On occasion, the salon is filled with the musical sounds of laughter and the uncorking of a bubbly champagne bottle. For weddings, anniversaries and other special events, the Ababans offer a bring-your-own-champagne service, in addition to a first-class limousine service to transport clients to and from the salon.
One young woman visiting Maui from Vancouver, Canada, stopped in for a French manicure while her husband was at a scuba lesson. “I was walking by and I had to check it out,” she said. “It has the nicest aura.”
And in an era of serious safety and health concerns (pathogenic bacteria and fungal infections), La Fleur Plumeria Nail Salon has exceeded every expectation. The Ababans and their staff of nail professionals ensure that all equipment is clean and sterilized, and use sealed packages of sanitized instruments for individual clients to prevent the possibility of bacteria transfer. The salon uses the highest quality anti-microbial products and equipment (such as non-porous glass pedicure basins), administers a potent fungicide between treatments and keeps basins dry and under a spotlight 24 hours a day. In addition, the Ababans designed and installed a cleverly disguised acrylic vapor evacuation system—which purifies the air of odors and vapors—to provide a clean and safe salon experience. Such precautions are a guarantee that clients will leave the salon looking and feeling wonderful—from hand to toe.
