The Pacific Whale Foundation held its annual Wild Dolphin Amateur Sand Sculpture Contest on Saturday, Aug. 16, at Keawakapu Beach in South Kihei. The winners of the “Best Overall ‘Ohana/Family Entry” were (from left to right): Nicolas Pushckor, Raine Pushckor, Tony Pushckor, Sky Pushckor, Bev Brouwer and Tyler Pushckor. The group sculpted a dolphin amid some stylized ocean waves during the morning contest. Kihei resident Holly Glenn (cover) won the prize for “Best Individual Entry” with her sand sculpture of a large dolphin.
