Maui’s wheelchair tennis Paralympic athlete, Beth Arnoult of Pa‘ia, returned home from the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games on Thursday, Sept. 18, greeted by a cheering crowd of fans and friends at Kahului Airport. Seeded No. 4, Arnoult and her doubles partner, Kaitlyn Verfuerth of California, were contenders for a bronze medal, but lost in a close match against the No. 3 seeded French team. Arnoult also placed in the top eight in the singles competition. The Maui Weekly congratulates Beth for her awesome accomplishment.
