Best Buddies

Dozens of students from Kihei Charter School, Baldwin, Maui and King Kekaulike High Schools put on their dancing shoes for an evening of laughter and hugs on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the first-ever Best Buddies Dance in the Baldwin High School Gymnasium. Buddy Ryan Behn from King Kekaulike showed off his dance moves, as Buddy Director James Santiago and Best Buddies Chapter President Candace Angel, both from Baldwin High School, practice the Best Buddies cheer. These students are participants in the new Hawai‘i Chapter of Best Buddies, a national nonprofit committed to students with intellectual disabilities. For more information, contact Best Buddies Hawai‘i Director Michael McCormick at michaelmccormick@bestbuddies.org or visit www.bestbuddies.org.
