Gusty winds didn’t deter GMO protesters as they waved signs saying “no to GMOs” at the intersection of Pi‘ilani and Mokulele Highways in Kihei on Saturday, April 8. The event to bring attention to health and environmental concerns about genetically modified organisms (GMOs) was held in conjunction with the Joint International GMOpposition Day (JIGMOD), involving more than 50 countries and 110 organizations worldwide.
