Top Ten Mental Health Issues to be discussed at the next MHA Potluck Dinner.The Mental Health Association (MHA) of Maui will hold their 35th Annual Meeting and Potluck Dinner and Chicken Hekka Sale on Dec. 5, at 5 p.m. at the J. Walter Cameron Center in Wailuku. The meeting is open to the public. All are welcome and requested to bring a dish for the potluck table.
Featured speakers at this year’s meeting include Marian Poirier, executive director of Nami-O‘ahu, leading a discussion on the “Top Ten Mental Health Issues in Hawai‘i,” and Steven Onken, Ph.D., with Mental Health Services Research Evaluation and Training, leading a discussion on “Advocacy in Recovery.”
The Mental Health Association of Maui is a volunteer, nonprofit citizen’s organization which works to promote mental health, reduce stigma and prevent problems associated with mental illnesses. Their mission is to improve the care, treatment and participation of children, adults, families with mental illness through public education and advocacy. The Mental Health Association of Maui is a Maui United Way Agency.
