I went to the Makawao recycling center today and had such a positive experience that I want to share it with you. I pulled up to the redemption station and was warmly greeted by an attendant who helped me carry my plastic and glass containers to the counting area.
I stood by as he sorted, bagged and counted my things. He then told the very nice cashier my totals and she politely asked my name, had me sign her machine and then handed me a few dollars and some change.
Their aloha was tangible, the customer service was amazing and I left thinking those guys are great! Doing a mundane job is not fun, but the way they do their job was so commendable it shows that attitude is everything.
