With water shortage and potential cutbacks, why are we not following the lead of the Big Island? Being surrounded by ocean water on all sides, I cannot understand why we cannot join the worldwide movement to use the existing endless supply of ocean water and turn it into usable water?
And if we have to cut back on water, why do they keep approving further development? There is building going on all over the island. What happened to the “show me the water” before approvals? I am confused about whom we take care of first: the people living here now or the Mainlanders paying the high prices for the fancy new construction? Somehow development has come before infrastructure needs: schools, hospitals, roads and water. I wonder about the rumors about council allegiances to something other than what is best for the people they serve. It’s an election year and time to show elected officials who is really in control. Vote.
