I heard some of Mr. Paribicoli’s Sept. 11 Marine Resource Council presentation, and I thought it was interesting that you are only required to tap into the wastewater reclaimed water for agricultural uses if you are within 100 yards of the existing lines. I think that we need to take the next step and require all developments to use grey water for ag purposes, no matter how far they are from existing infrastructure. This would ensure that infrastructure and development are at least done concurrently, end the waste of potable water and reduce the need for chemical fertilizers with nitrogen. I don’t consider this anti-development mentality. I think it should be called pro-appropriate development.
Mr. Paribicoli mentioned that it would be really expensive to upgrade the facility, but it could also help our economy create construction jobs. Our politicians should look into matching funds.
