A young boy in Hawai‘i makes thousands of dollars from cockfighting. To allow a heinous activity to continue only because ignorant people claim it is part of their culture is shameful! Yes, ignorant people. To allow the torture of an animal as entertainment is barbaric.
Would the same people who consider cockfighting and dog fighting a sport get in the boxing ring and get beat up? You claim it’s a sport, right?
All animals feel pain, protect their young, run from harm, enjoy the life they have been given. Why is that not the right of a chicken? Is it because our palates dictate who gets to live—and who doesn't?
The young boy with the thousands of dollars is learning that making dirty money is acceptable entertainment. To get satisfaction from watching a living creature being tortured is unacceptable behavior. Culture has nothing to do with it at all; if it’s heinous, it’s heinous. In other countries, child molestation may be allowed; it’s part of their culture. Should they be allowed to continue this behavior here?
