The public is invited to attend the Sierra Club Maui Group’s annual membership meeting and potluck on Saturday, Feb. 9, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kaunoa Senior Center (rooms 101–102) in Spreckelsville. This free event will feature displays, local environmental updates, an awards presentation, a panel discussion and a potluck lunch.
The panel discussion will begin at noon following the presentation of the Onipa‘a Awards to Randy Awo, Dave Chenoweth and the late Ron Sturtz. After the potluck lunch, Sen. J. Kalani English, Renewable Energy Expert and Executive Director of Life of the Land Henry Curtis, Maui Water Researcher Lucienne de Naie and Appropriate Technology Consultant and Economist Michael Duberstein, will discuss “Choosing Our Future: Energy, Water and Livable Communities.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to share. A main dish, beverages and serving items will be provided by the Sierra Club.
