If you have a green thumb—or if your inner-gardener is ready to blossom—be sure to mark this Saturday on your calendar. The Sierra Club Maui Group will host a fundraising plant sale during the Ha‘iku Ho‘olaulea Flower Festival on Saturday, March 8, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Ha‘iku Community Center located at 1008 Hana Hwy. The Sierra Club is seeking plants—and any plant will do—to sell at the event. All proceeds from the event will assist the Sierra Club in its efforts to keep our island clean—and green. If you have a plant that you would like to donate to a good cause, Sierra Club members will make sure that its roots find a loving home. The club is also looking for volunteers to help during the event, and while some plant expertise is helpful, you don’t need to be a certified Master Gardener to participate.
The Sierra Club will accept plant donations on Friday, March 7, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., or before the event on Saturday between 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m., at the Ha‘iku Community Center. If you would like to volunteer your green thumb or if you need additional information, contact Jeanne Androvich at 575-2789, or jeanne.androvich@mindspring.com.
