Composting instructor Wilma Nakamura will sell Earth Machine Composters at Maui Nui Botanical Gardens on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 1 to 3 p.m. Only persons who have previously taken a composting class from Wilma or Joy Webster will be able to take advantage of this opportunity. A limited supply is available on a first-come, first-served basis (one composter per household). For those who qualify, the composters will be sold for $49 (cash or check only, no credit cards).

Composting green waste, mixed paper, food scraps and anything organic diverts tons from the landfill and creates healthy soil for our gardens. Also on Saturday, Sept. 13, and the second Saturday of every month, a composting class will be held at the MOA Center, 164 Kamehameha Ave. in Kahului from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

Maui Nui Botanical Garden is located across from the War Memorial Stadium parking lot (enter through the east gate), 150 Kanaloa Ave., Kahului.
