The Honolulu Advertiser - Last week, Hawai‘i forfeited its dubious distinction of having the highest gasoline prices, now ranking fourth-highest in the country. Once the record holder for the priciest gasoline nationwide, Hawai‘i now falls behind California, Alaska and Connecticut, according to figures supplied by the American Automobile Association’s Daily Fuel Gauge Report Website. The report showed the statewide average for a gallon of regular gasoline at $3.781, slightly below the record high of $3.807 documented in the beginning of April. California’s average price per gallon is $3.905, Alaska is at $3.819 and Connecticut is slightly ahead of Hawai‘i at $3.783 per gallon.
