The Honolulu Advertiser - According to the National Weather Service last week, record-tying or -breaking temperatures were set in Hawai‘i. A high temperature of 86 degrees in Lihue, Kaua‘i, on Tuesday, July 16, tied a record for the same date in 2004, the NWS said. Conversely, a record low temperature was set the same morning in Kahului where the mercury dipped to 63 degrees, breaking the old record of 64 degrees on July 15, 1950.
