Thirteen graduates of the County of Maui’s 26th Fire Recruit class were honored at a ceremony and luncheon in Wailea, the Department of Fire and Public Safety announced last week. Shawn Kiesel, Nohea Williams, Nicholas Simon, Kamuela Guth, Tyson Santiago, Keahi Ho, Michael Howe, Judd McCandless, Cody Cordeiro, Patrick Blackburn, Navayo Caiserman, Dana Anderson and David Kamalani were graduated as fire fighters and will be stationed throughout Maui County. “I am very proud of our newest additions to our department—they worked exceptionally well together and gave 110 percent in everything they did,” said Fire Chief Jeffrey Murray. “Their accomplishments during recruit training are just the beginning of what they will be able to achieve during their careers, and I know they will continue to put their hearts into serving the community as fire fighters.”
