The Weekly Dish Jan. 6
January 13, 2012 - Trisha Smith
Catch recent episodes of the rockin' The Weekly Dish radio show here.
Tune in every Friday morning on KAOI1110Am&96.7Fm from 7 to 8 a.m. for a unique serving of Maui's news and views. Catch the last two week's episodes of the weekend jumpstart talk variety show via the link located on this page.
End 2011 with our special NYE recording from Friday, Dec. 30, and then cruise in to the new year with last week's rockin' edition, with special guests from the Freeradicals Projekt. (Don't forget about their big CD release party at Stella Blues this Friday night in Kihei, where they'll be celebrating among friends and fans the official release of their album, "Soulfire Radio.")
Just visit the KAOI Website link below and hear what you've been missing from da Dish.
Much love and aloha to all of our supporters, including the Maui Weekly newspaper, 808 Deli, Stella Blues Cafe, Ambrosia Martini Lounge, Body Alive Yoga & Movement Studio, Three's Bar & Grill and Wailuku Coffee Company. Make sure you read my girl Mira Allen's front page story in last week's Maui Weekly issue. I'm excited to have my good friend back on island, and proud to have her write for a paper that used to be such a big part of my Maui experience. Good luck to her and the paper! I'll always support the Maui Weekly publication, even if I don't grace the pages as much anymore or visit the office. I'm proud to be a media voice of theirs on the airwaves. I'm excited to grow as a journalist, extend myself elsewhere and make room for others, especially as I pursue other writing passions. Thanks for three memorable years! :-)
My Groovy sidekick Shawn Michael and I love providing a fun and informative broadcast on KAOI for all of our loyal listeners each week, and there's always a plethora of good community news and views provided by the Maui Weekly and other notable sources on the isle. We're so fortunate to welcome special correspondents each Friday such as bon-vi-vant Paul Janes-Brown, our arts & theatre guru, and share the mike in the past with some fantastic artistic energies such as Maui filmmaker Brian Kohne of "Get A Job!" fame and world-renowned musical talents such as Willie K and Lukas Nelson. And if it weren't for our wonderful engineer Garry, I don't think The Weekly Dish would exist. Mahalo to you all!
Thanks for listening everyone to The Weekly Dish-a delightful recipe for Maui's community and entertainment news. Keep it real Maui. Aloha!
