On behalf of the vast majority of Canadians who visit Maui I would like to apologize for Al Yakimchuk's letter this week. I've been coming to Maui since 1972 and have always considered it a home away from home. I too live on an island which is a tourist destination and am all too familiar with the odd tourist who decides to have a bad experience while on vacation. My parents started coming to Hawaii in the early 60's and I always feel blessed to be here. Please know Mr. Yakimchuk's views do not reflect other Canadians, and, perhaps as he settles back into the current -2 degree weather in Winnepeg, he may reconsider his experience here. Mahalo Maui for my, and my family's experiences over the years.
