Local NewsRotary Clubs to Hold Food Drives

The nine Rotary International (RI) clubs on Maui are holding food drives for the Maui Food Bank at various locations throughout Maui on Saturday, Nov. 14 and on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 21 and 22.On Nov. 14, Rotarians from the two Lahaina clubs will hold food drives on the West Side at the Lahaina Foodland and Lahaina Farms. Rotarians will also collect donations at the Wailuku Sack ’N Save Rotary clubs will also be stationed on Nov. 21 at Foodland in Kahului and at Safeway in Kïhei and Kahului. Clubs will also collect food items in Pukalani on Nov. 21, at Long’s Drugs and Foodland, and on Sunday, Nov. 22 at Pukalani Superette. The most needed items include financial contributions, canned meat and tuna, canned meals and soups with protein, canned fruits and vegetables, cereal, rice and pasta. The goal of the Food Bank is to provide hunger relief for anyone who might be in need. Food and funds collected will be able to provide sustenance for working poor families, seniors on fixed incomes and single parents who rely on the Maui Food Bank just to make it month to month.
