The Lōkahi Giving event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., when Justin Cruz from KHON2 will be joined by local performers to assist with bringing in donations for the Lōkahi Giving Project. Alaka‘i from KPOA radio station will broadcast live from Azeka Shopping Center to draw in donations. Entertainment will include performances by Kīhei Canoe Club with Auntie Doll & Kīhei Strummers, Kamehameha Middle School ‘Ukulele Ensemble, Maui Choral Arts Association, Kalau Nawaipunalei, Kenny Roberts, Ahumanu, Christ the King Keiki Singers and more. “This is our sixth year working together with KHON, and all of us, from management to merchants, could not be more committed to helping families right here in our neighborhood who are struggling,” said Evelyn Long for Azeka Management. “We are just overwhelmed by the generosity of the community members who come down to Azeka and donate each year. This giving spirit is what the holiday season is all about. All the gifts bring so much joy to those in need from children to elderly. As many people on Maui are going through such challenging times, we hope that the community will find it in their heart this year, to continue the gift of giving.” Anyone interested in assisting at the Lōkahi Giving event with collections of donations, please contact the Azeka management office 879-5000. |
