This year, the largest chamber ensemble to date—12 musicians from Maui, Moloka‘i, and O‘ahu—will accompany three superb soloists from Maui—Leighanna Edwards Locke, Karyn Sarring and Robert E. Wills. The entire audience will participate as the chorus: Scores will be available at the door for everyone who would like to sing. The Maui Choral Arts Association, in conjunction with the Hyatt, will host a Charitable Gift Giving Fair. Various nonprofit organizations that raise awareness and funds for children will solicit end-of-year, tax-deductible donations from participants at the event. Participating organizations include: Bailey House/Maui Historical Society, American Heart Association, National Kidney Association and Maui Youth Philharmonic. In addition, there will be Christmas gift items for sale, and the Hyatt is providing a crafts table for youngsters. A photographer will capture precious moments of keiki with Saint Nick. Advance tickets are $10; $5 for youth 18 and under. Advance tickets are available until Friday, Dec. 18. Tickets at the door are $15, $13 for seniors and $8 for youth 18 and under. To reserve tickets or for more information, call 878-3006, or purchase online at www.mauimusicarts.org . |
