The Rotary Club of Maui will present its third annual Chefs on the Beach fundraiser on Saturday, May 8, from 2 to 6 p.m. on the gorgeous Honua Kai Lani Beach Estate in Mākena.
The casual yet elegant event features a delicious “Chef’s Festival” where some of Maui’s top eateries lay out a tasty spread for you to enjoy as you mingle with others by the sea.
This year’s restaurants include Spago, Zen Zen at Mākena Beach Resort, A Saigon Café, Mala Wailea, Three’s Bar & Grill, Moana Bakery & Café, Mulligan’s On the Blue, Sansei, Bistro Casanova, Hana Hou Café, Dad’s Donut Shop and Flatbread Company.
Enjoy a sunny afternoon of wine, fare and fun in support of island nonprofits at the Rotary Club of Maui’s third annual Chefs on the Beach fundraiser on Saturday, May 8.
Sip on a selection of over a dozen fine wines donated by Hawai‘i Liquor Superstore’s Ali Biglar.
As you show off your “hat-a-tude” and please your palate, sway to the sweet sounds of some splendid Maui entertainers. Kick back to the acoustics of folk darling Gail Swanson, groove with smooth operators Phil and Angela Benoit of Benoit Jazz Works and go back in time with Rich Tom and Mele Fong of The Hawaiian Serenaders.
There will also be a silent auction with golf packages, helicopter rides, dining gift certificates, fine jewelry and more up for bid.
Rotarians created this event a few years ago in order to support several worthy nonprofits that work to improve the quality of life for so many. In tough economic times like these, the event organizers feel it’s especially important to come together to aid those who support the Maui community.
Proceeds from the 2010 Chefs on the Beach will benefit Maui Youth & Family Services, Imua Family Services, Mālama Family Recovery Center, Friends of the Children’s Justice Center of Maui, Maui Family Support Services, Women Helping Women, Maui’s American Heart Association, Maui’s American Cancer Society, Maui Academy of Performing Arts and Maui Hui Malama Learning Center.
