Mahalo! New Maui residents Martha Shen-Urquidez and Arnold Urquidez were very impressed by South Side Boxing Club’s (SSBC) “Boxing Under the Stars” event. Arnold, a coach for China’s Olympic Boxing Team, and his wife Martha, a form-boxing referee, donated a one-year pass to Big John McCarthy’s Ultimate Training Academy in California to SSBC’s Josh Nakagawa. The generous couple will also sponsor six weeks of training for six kids in Beijing with the Olympic team, and they donated boxing gear and attire for all the club’s keiki.
