ZAP is traveling to Maui as part of its spring tour. A group of premier ZAP member wineries that specialize in Zinfandel will be staging tastings to meet the public and the trade. Participants can mingle with top winemakers and principals, learn about remarkable richness and versatility of Zinfandel and discover why it is “America’s Heritage Grape.”
“The Zinfandel Grand Tasting tops the Culinary Academy’s food and wine events for the year by offering our community ‘one last chance’ to sample the best that the future chefs of Maui can offer,” said Culinary Academy Program Coordinator Chris Speere.
“Our student chefs are ‘juiced’ to be in the spotlight and to be recognized as the celebrity chefs for this nationally acclaimed ZAP event,” added Speere. “The Student Chef Cookoff is the most exciting portion of the event for our culinary students. Interest was so high, we had to expand the number of competing teams from five to nine teams. It just shows that our students want to expand their skills and are not afraid to take on new challenges!”
