His presentation will encompass Haleakalā the mountain, not just Haleakalā National Park. He will discuss the status of East Maui’s rarest native plant species, their management, habitats and threats. Oppenheimer will highlight the collaborative effort between the many landowners, managers, public and private entities, nurseries, volunteers and researchers working to save the East Maui native flora.
The presentation, which is sponsored by the Friends of Haleakalā National Park, is free and open to the public.
