Diligent diva Cherisse Nichole thought so, and recently used her company, VIP Style, to start the monthly events, “Glamour Girls Night Out Monthly Events.” Each are hosted in a different Maui locale, and are special evenings where working women can market creatively, let loose a little, while also supporting a local nonprofit.
Cherisse created her company, VIP Style, to “inspire women to feel good, look good, and do good.” It started out in 2007 as a fashion service of sorts, providing personal shopping advice and special events assistance for retail and tourism markets. Then as Cherisse started to partner with companies on O‘ahu, she saw there was much more she could do to be active in the community where she lived and keep it classy at the same time.
In 2009, VIP Style partnered to bring Fashionista’s Market over to the Valley Isle for the first time, putting on the largest fashion and beauty event on Maui with 900 women in attendance, according to Cherisse.
Come celebrate, relax and mingle! Join VIP Style’s Cherisse Nichole for another “Glamour Girls Night Out” during the “Glam, Giltz & Gold” networking event for women in business at Mala Wailea on Saturday, Aug. 21. Call 298-4376 for details and ticket reservations.

She continued her efforts to promote local business and community causes with the “Glamour Girls” nights. Cherisse helped put together the poolside party mixer of “A Haute Summer Night” at the Hotel Wailea during the film festival in June.
On Saturday, August 21, VIP Style is hosting “Glam, Glitz & Gold,” a “Women in Business Networking Social” from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Mala Wailea within the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa.
This is a great opportunity to celebrate with some of Maui’s finest female entrepreneurs, business owners, operators, managers and executives of local businesses, big and small. The event is open to public, inviting all women interested in promoting a business or image, and yes, men are also welcome.
“The men who come to these events are the smart ones,” said Cherisse with a giggle. “I’ve met some of the most amazing ladies in business here on Maui… it’s refreshing to see how many have ridden the wave of these challenging economic times, and work hard to be successful and creative.”
This month’s nonprofit recipient is Autism Bridges Maui, a caring organization founded in Hawai‘i by parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
Autism Bridges Maui supports a network to a variety of services to individuals with ASD, Pervasive Developmental Delay and other neurological disorders; provides support and educational opportunities to their families and caregivers; and works to develop more public awareness and sensitivity in our community regarding the disorder. During August’s night out, relax among friends while enjoying live music, complimentary massages and pūpū, and free gift bags will be awarded to the first 50 ladies through the door.
A “Get Glam Beauty Bar” will be onsite, featuring a few free services, beauty tips and special offers from Medi Spa Maui, along with make-up tips and mini makeovers by Cos Bar. Then stop by the “Glam It Up Boutique” to peruse some trendy threads and golden goodies from Geisha Fabulous, Hats by Emi, Tiffany & Co. and more.
Celebrate girl power this Saturday at “Glitz, Glam & Gold,” a community- and style-conscious avenue for local businesswoman to promote creatively, while keeping the company of some wonderful individuals who make a difference in variant markets across the isles.
Presale tickets are $22 ($20 for business owners) and can be reserved by calling 298-4376 or visiting www.vipstylemaui.com. Tickets are $25 at the door of Mala Wailea at the Marriott, located at 3700 Wailea Alanui Dr.
