The workshop is an introduction to composting—what it is, how it happens, various methods and what can be composted.
Up to 50 percent of what is thrown away at home each day can actually be composted. Composting is a natural process that breaks down organic waste and transforms it into a valuable nutrient rich soil amendment, prefect for gardens, lawns and house plants.
“It is nature’s way of recycling,” said composting instructor Wilma Nakamura.
Earth Machine composting bins, Worm Factory bins and worms will be for sale at the workshop.
