This adults-only event gives parents and community members an opportunity to “become a student” and learn about the materials, the philosophy and the journey from pre-K to eighth grade at Montessori Hale O Keiki. Attendees will spend time in the Primary classroom, the Lower Elementary classroom, the Upper Elementary classroom and the Middle School classroom.
Parents will work with the hands-on, concrete materials and learn how 21st century skills are being taught to the students at the only independent school in South Maui.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about Montessori Hale O Keiki and the philosophy that prepares students for the challenges that our future generations will face.
Elise Brady, the new Head of School of Montessori Hale O Keiki in Kīhei, and her husband, Colin Moe, and two children, Jared and Jasmine, are looking to experience the true meaning of community and aloha. She welcomes parents to attend the school’s Journey of Discovery event on Thursday, Nov. 18 to “become a student” and learn more about the curriculum and staff.
RSVP by calling 874-7441.
MHOK is also excited to announce that Elise Brady was selected to join as the new Head of School. Brady holds a B.A. in Economics from McGill University and an M.B.A in International Finance from Boston College.
MHOK Board of Directors President Matt Gundred said Brady’s background in corporate finance and her experience and enthusiasm for the Montessori curriculum is a natural fit and welcomes the changes a new director is certain to bring to the table.
Brady and her husband and two children are looking to experience the true meaning of community and aloha. She feels the move to MHOK will allow the family to deeply understand their new sense of place due to the integrated marine biology and Hawaiiana curriculums that are a part of the MHOK experience. She also continues to pursue her personal interests in photography, tennis and current brain development science.
As South Maui’s only independent school serving students and their families from preschool through eighth grade, MHOK is committed to educating for the 21st century and includes a ground-breaking marine science program. It is fully accredited by HAIS, WASC and AMS
