Sweet Success

Approximately 150 happy dessert connoisseurs attended Best Buddies’ first annual Life Is Sweet dessert competition held at The Shops at Wailea in December. Nearly $24,000 was raised to support Best Buddies programs at schools on Maui. The winning desert, Kokoleka Lani Chocolate Heaven, was submitted by The Fairmont Kea Lani Executive Pastry Chef Ricky De Boer, seen here with his assistant, and Best Buddies team members Skylar Rutter and Carissa Ratte.
