The 13th Annual Maui Start! Heart Walk Team Captain Kickoff benefitting the American Heart Association-Maui Division will take place on Thursday, Jan. 27, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Elleair Ballroom at the Maui Beach Hotel. It’s not too late to sign up to be a Maui Start! Heart Walk Team Captain, and all residents—captains and team members alike—are encouraged to attend Thursday’s Team Captain Kickoff. There is no cost to attend, and light refreshments will be served.
Did you know that cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the United States? The American Heart Association is the nation’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to building healthier lives, free of heart disease and stroke. You can help this organization achieve its mission by putting your best foot forward at this year’s Maui Start! Heart Walk at Keopuolani Park on Saturday, March 26, beginning at 8 a.m. Why walk? The answer is simple: by walking, you will not only take the steps toward improving your own health, but also create hope, inspire change and celebrate success—the theme of this year’s event.
The 13th Maui Start! Annual Heart Walk will raise funds to help the American Heart Association-Maui Division continue its efforts to support life-saving research at local institutions, in addition to community-based initiatives promoting cardiovascular disease prevention, treatment and outreach. This year’s event goal is $70,000—and you can help make that happen.
