Forget light rail!

February 17, 2011
Maui Weekly

The answer is aerial gondolas, which cause only minimum physical impact on the environment and topography. They could be 100 percent solar and wind electrical generation dependant. And they would be the best possible way to see the island—by air.

It’s possible to build them using existing power line right-of-ways, and at the same time, eliminate some of the ugly power lines visible around the island.

Forget light rail!

If anyone is interested, I have a seven-phase Wailuku Municipal Parking structure plan that includes an aerial gondola system from the structure, over the bay, to the airport and through the valley to the resorts.

Jump on board!
