Timing Belts

June 9, 2011
Eric Bowser · Kīhei Automotive
Engine timing belt replacement at the recommended mileage is critical, but often overlooked. On some cars, it can cost thousands in major engine repairs if the timing belt breaks. It should be replaced as a maintenance item at 60,000-, 90,000- or 100,000-mile intervals, depending on manufacturers recommendations.
