For 46 years, Ross has bought, sold, traded and consigned the rarest treasures in the world.
“I have amassed an amazing collection of the most eclectic treasures on the planet,” he said.
Items include furniture, antiques, art, unique gifts, crystal, koa, teak, bronze, copper, exotic building materials, fountains, stone carvings, planters, gates and much more.
David Ross invites the community to visit his Endangered Pieces stores and multiple warehouses to view his amazing collection of furnishings and clothing from around the world.
Born in San Francisco, Ross began attending antique auctions and yard sales at a young age. Early in the 1970s, he opened his first store.
“I am an antique freak,” he admits, delighting in all his acquisitions.
“And I have never seen the amount of beautiful objects coming my way as I have in the past two years,” added Ross.
Apparently, many people are moving who can’t take their possessions with them. Therefore, Ross has access to incredible pieces, such as koa staircases, Italian kitchen cabinets, curly koa bathroom vanities, African mahogany sliding doors and many other rarities.
Not only can Ross boast of customers such as Bette Midler, Donna Summer Don Rickles and the late Liberace, he is currently pleased to find clients waiting for him to open shop in the mornings. He relishes the fact that his customers come from all over the world.
“Who knew?” he commented, hardly believing just how much his business has expanded.
“Drive-bys would be amazed at what is inside the shop,” said Ross of his intriguing treasures. “People, contractors and decorators looking to remodel or refurnish with the highest quality building materials available have come to the right place,” he said.
Due to the large number of objects in storage, he will gladly take a client to one of his warehouses to view the collections by appointment.
Ross feels that our interiors are becoming redundant.
“Many homes and businesses are losing character by featuring furniture from large chain stores seen over and over again,” he said. “Endangered Pieces is the place to shop when you desire unique interiors that reflect your style and personality.”
In addition to the growing collection of building materials and pieces from the richest homes and resorts on Maui, the Neighbor Islands and the world, Ross offers a wide range of services to his clients. Endangered Pieces is always looking to add valuable, interesting pieces to its collection and offers a party and prop rental service.
“Bring in any items you wish to sell, and maybe we’ll make an offer,” he said. “We also love to trade and consign and offer appraisals of personal property. This is truly a unique service! And if you’re looking for a unique backdrop for your corporate event, party or wedding, we are the first place you should look.”
With such a huge assortment of exotic items from across the globe, Endangered Pieces may have exactly what you need to accomplish your vision.
“All of our pieces are available for prop and party rentals at reasonable prices,” said Ross.
Clothing is not left out of this unique mix—Ross has acquired couture designer clothing from celebrities.
“I offer some of the most incredible fashions, including bags and accessories,” he said. “If you like pieces that are really, really different, you will want to take a peek at this apparel collection.”
If you are thinking about selling your home, it must be presented at its best from the moment it is on the market. Ross feels he can help you make that great first impression on potential buyers as soon as they step in your front door.
“Let us make selling your home easier with our real estate staging service,” he said. “We optimize and enhance both interior and exterior spaces. Due to our wide-ranging selection of Far East pieces, rustic décor, classical pieces, luxurious and elegant furniture, along with countless bronze and stone statues, we can help you achieve the greatest success.”
After many years in the business, Ross shows no sign of slowing down. An avid athlete who has mastered mogul skiing, ashtanga yoga and martial arts, his current passion is inline skating. Almost every morning, Ross skates the Mokulele Highway from Tesoro to the sugar mill.
“Skating is a great meditation and most incredible way to start the workday,” he said. “Much of my daily inspiration comes from inline skating… I skate through life, living my fantasy. Come and see the treasures I found along the way.”
