July 21, 2011
Maui Weekly

Store patrons are encouraged to make cash contributions or purchase supplies from a list provided by Rotary club members, who will distribute the donations to individual schools and community programs that help children in need on Maui.

Drives will be held between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, at Longs, Office Max and Walgreens in Lahaina and in Kahului at Foodland and Office Max. Office Max in Kahului will also collect supplies on Sunday, July 24.

On Sunday, July 31, supplies will be collected in Kīhei at Longs Drugs and Safeway and at the Kula Malu Longs in Upcountry Maui.

Lihikai Elementary School Principal Michael Pollack, PCNC Rosa Stone and Vice Principal Shannon Cabanilla accept school supplies from Lei Enriques-Fagan, Community Service chair of the Rotary Club of Valley Isle Sunset (in truck) at last year’s island-wide, multi-club effort.

This is the fifth consecutive year that a School Supplies Drive has been sponsored by Maui’s Rotary clubs. This island-wide School Supplies Drive is one of the many community service projects sponsored by Rotary clubs on Maui.
