Pā‘ia Youth & Cultural Center Receives Donations

August 25, 2011
Maui Weekly

PYCC would like to acknowledge and thank the following for their donations: $10,000 from the Omidyar ‘Ohana Fund via the Hawai‘i Community Foundation, $10,000 from the Atherton Family Foundation, $5,000 from the Fred Memorial Foundation and $1,500 from the Alexander & Baldwin Foundation. Wholesale Flooring Direct, Lowes (Kahului) and Sherwin Williams Paint contributed generous donations of materials.

PYCC also received support for equipment upgrades, and new photographic, media and computer equipment for the Hekili Multimedia Lab: $5,000 from the Cooke Foundation Limited and $5,000 from the Bendon Family Foundation.

The Hekili Multimedia Lab Program provides mentorship for video production, photography, audio recording, graphic design and Web design via two computer labs and seven workstations. Increased availability of equipment through these donations offers more hands-on media opportunities and improves and enhances youth participation in the existing multimedia program.
