The Maui News - Neighbor Island travelers can choose from four travel plans to allow them to lock in lower fares over a 12-month period, according to an announcement last week from Hawaiian Airlines. The plans offer HawaiianMiles customers up to 14 percent off its current lowest Web fares for nonstop travel between Honolulu and Kahului, Lihue, Hilo and Kona, the airline said. The plans were developed from the airline's study of the travel habits of its HawaiianMiles members. The plans range from a package of four round-trip tickets for the traveler who makes occasional trips to visit friends and family to a bundle of 60 one-way segments for the frequent commuter. Fares range from $64 per one-way segment with some restrictions for the "My Favorite Island" plan, to $76 per segment for "Freedom," the largest unrestricted plan. Prices include a 7.5 percent U.S. tax. Final purchase prices also will include the required federal $3.70 segment fee and $2.50 security fee. Travelers can enroll in Hawaiian Miles at www.HawaiianAirlines.com. The plans are available for purchase at www.HawaiianAirlines.com/Neighbor-Island-Travel-Plan.
