Tuesday, Dec. 6, marked a new beginning for the South Maui Men's Softball League. For the first time in its 25-year history, the league held games on a field other than Kalama Park--the new South Maui Community Park, which will be the location of the remaining games of this year's league.
The Red Eye Souljahs found fortune at the new location, trouncing Ten10Ten10Ten by a score of 13-1. The Prospects snuffed Put Out The Fire 14-4 and Green 18 earned a win over Cove Park Bruddas with a 10-7 score.
On Wednesday, Dec. 7, Red Eye Souljahs pounded the Prospects 13-4, and the Bomb Squad edged out Blue Collar 17-16.
On Thursday, Dec. 8, Green 18 doused the Bomb Squad 9-4 and conquered Caged 11-7.
Congratulations to Dabriel Gerard of the Prospects for hitting the first home run at the new park!
Tuesday, Dec. 13, games were rained out and are rescheduled for January.
Wednesday, Dec. 14, Red Eye Souljahs defeated Korrupt 15-0, the Prospects beat out the Cove Park Bruddas 14-4 and Put Out The Fire edged out Chico's 8-7.
On Thursday, Dec. 15, Bud-Y-Za squeezed past the Cove Park Bruddas by a score of 11-10, Red Eye Souljahs blasted the Bomb Squad 13-0 and Head First trounced the Jagerbombers 13-3.
On Tuesday, Dec. 20, Blue Collar conquered Ten10Ten10Ten 15-14, Caged beat Blue Collar 12-3 and Cove Park Bruddas overcame Chico's 11-4.
On Wednesday, Dec. 12, Red Eye Souljahs beat the Cove Park Bruddas 6-3 and Last Place blasted Put Out The Fire 11-5.
On Thursday, Dec. 22, Bud-Y-Za beat Chico's 13-8, Last Place edged out Red Eye Souljahs 10-9 and the Prospects blasted the Bomb Squad 20-10.
In January, the South Maui Youth Basketball League, the county's largest youth program, will begin with games at Kamali'i Elementary School and Kalama Park.
